The Asceni Method

(Astrological Overview, continued)

The Signs:

When talking about the Signs, it’s important to remember that the natal Sun’s Sign will be an essential factor when delineating a natal map. The Sun’s Sign gives form and direction to the entire chart and, by extension, all the planetoids in that chart ~ it “colors” every form in that chart with the qualities of its Sign.

That’s not to say the planetoids will easily conform to those qualities, for as often as not, the energies may not mix well and could become a subject for contemplation and meditation.

There is a triplicity of energies which have to be considered when trying to identify the Heavenly Body’s impact on the natal map: the Sun’s Sign, the Sign in which the Heavenly Body is found, and the energy of the Heavenly Body itself.

For purposes of our study and play with TAM, the Signs give shape and form to the Phase and Will energies as well, creating another triplicity. For example, if the New Phase started at 18° Aries 28′, the initiating energy of Aries would increase the creative fire of the Phase, which would be tripled by the inaugurating energies of the Will to Initiate that belong in the New Phase.

The Houses:

The astrological Houses show the “where” of the chart, where are the energies of the planet/sign combinations manifesting with their greatest strengths or weaknesses? The Houses are the most physical indicators in the chart; they reveal “place.”

The Houses don’t play a part in our work and study of TAM. However, they are an essential part of understanding your natal chart and so we’ve included basic information, as well as lists of their areas of impact to better help you study your own nativity.

In the Section titled: The Reading Room, under the section on Foundational Astrology, under the subsection Houses, and the appropriate House number, are broad summaries of key ideas surrounding each House. Where appropriate, Theos has added information.

Elements, Polarity, Modality and Orientation:

Theos has begun to call more attention to these factors in our work with TAM. This information will be incorporated into our basic texts as Theos continues to expand on these themes through channelings they give.

As basic definitions go, Element relates to basic personality temperaments; Polarity refers to the electrical charge of energy; Modality describes the movement of energy; while Orientation shows the evolution of the energy.

For more in-depth information on these factors, consult the subheading Elements, Polarity, Modality, and Orientation, under Foundational Astrology in The Library.
