The Aspects Pluto forms with other planets are usually dominant not only in the natal chart, but in the life of the individual. To deal with Pluto is to ~ usually ~ deal with extremes. With natal Pluto Square a natal Sun/Saturn Conjunction for example, the father or other male authority figures could be cruel, dominant, and manipulative. But, with a natal Pluto Trine a natal Sun/Saturn Conjunction, the father or other male authority figures can be quite supportive and helpful to our climb up the ladder of life.
The tone and tenor of the Aspect formed between Pluto and the other Heavenly Bodies will have a definite tendency to “dominate” the life of the person involved. Look to Pluto for serious life “lessons” and major disruptions to the “status quo” … which, in a sense, Pluto abhors. The more Aspects to Pluto one has, the greater the potential for transformation the personality must have.
Because Pluto is a transpersonal planet, it is mainly the House in which Pluto resides natally that will indicate the area of the life most in need of Pluto’s power to detach and release. If in one of the first 4 Houses, the personality is the “object” of Pluto’s transformational focus and, according to the particular House, indicates those areas in which it is essential for the personality to learn the art of detachment.
If located in Houses 5 through 8, it is the personality’s relationships that require an attitude of detachment and a focus on releasing the attachments which keep us bound to those relationships. If located in Houses 9 through 12, it is the personality’s attachment to success, public status, and those mundane groups to which we feel we belong, that must undergo the process of purging and detachment. The 12th House holds a special place with respect to Pluto because it includes the Karma we brought with us into this life and from which we must free ourselves. Pluto is especially designed to help us in this respect.
