Yod:

Occurs when two or more planets that are sextile each other and both make a quincunx to a third planet, which forms the tip of the ‘finger.’ The Yod, meaning “Blessed” in Hebrew, is reputed to have a quality of fate about it in the sense that the planets involved point to a certain direction or vocational calling. Although the “fated” quality of the Yod is questionable, the presence of two quincunxes in the pattern means that this is not an easy configuration to work with, even though it is mitigated by a sextile. This aspect pattern seems to generate a great deal of restless energy and denotes issues that will not go away unless they are acted on and resolved. In this respect, the Yod is potentially a more positive symbol of transformation than a quincunx on its own.
