Grand Trine:

The Grand Trine consists of three planets, 120° apart, forming an equilateral triangle, usually in Signs of the same Element. This aspect pattern signifies an abundance of free-flowing energy that finds its expression through natural-born talents and aptitudes … but benign though these energies are, they can be something of a mixed blessing. The abilities indicated by the planets in aspect come so naturally that, unless there are challenging aspects tapping into the Grand Trine, there is little motivation to develop them further. As a result, the easy-come-easy-go attitude that often characterizes this aspect pattern can become counterproductive.

People with a Grand Trine in Fire, often produce impressive results through sheer confidence, especially in their own capabilities … but their blind faith in their powers can work against them when expectations fail to materialize. Those with a Grand Trine in Earth, may display an instinctive touch with all things practical, but they can become so absorbed in taking care of their material needs that they lose sight of what ends these needs are supposed to serve. With a Grand Trine in Air, there is a natural facility for learning and thinking, which, if it is properly harnessed, can produce original ideas. When discipline is lacking however, the likely outcome is a butterfly mentality. A Grand Trine in Water enhances a person’s intuition and sensitivity to emotional atmospheres, however, this receptivity needs to be made conscious and directed outwards … if it is not to become a source of inner emotional turmoil

The Grand Trine occurs when three or more planets are at the same degree in Signs of the same Element and are thus separated by angles of 120°. It indicates vast resources of creative ability that can be exploited. Close aspects to any of the planets involved by a planet outside the Grand Trine will be especially important in stimulating creative expression.
