This is a “fake it ‘till you make it” kind of situation. Theos encourages us to develop a mantra for things we wish to change and to repeat the mantra out loud every chance we get. This is really important for things that feel impossible to change.
In considering how best to explain this tool, it seemed like an example would do the trick.
For instance, I wanted to stop feeling scarcity every time I paid bills. I often felt quite fearful, with lots of thoughts of “What if I don’t have enough to get through the month if I pay this bill?” “What if I don’t have enough to buy food?” “What if the electricity gets shut off?” “What if there’s an emergency?” Stuff like that.
I thought up a mantra: “We always have plenty.” I used “we” instead of “I” because I wanted to imagine everyone having plenty, not just me … and I have a roommate with whom I share expenses.
Every time I felt scarcity, (not just when paying bills), I started repeating my mantra, “We always have plenty.” I have to add that I transmitted Divine Will every time I said it, to help manifest it … mainly thinking about the Will to Express Divinity, the Will that governs manifesting.
My roommate was also working with this same mantra. (There’s power in the group.) If one of us faltered, the other would immediately say the mantra and then we’d both repeat it.
I kept repeating the mantra, even though I didn’t feel that way, but I kept paying it lip service. I kept saying it every time I caught a scarcity thought or felt scarcity in some way. Eventually, “We always have plenty.” became my first thought up in every situation of scarcity. My roommate also worked with lip service and eventually had the same experience of this mantra being the first thought up when scarcity thoughts/feelings struck.
It took months of paying this concept lip service before our income started to increase. Pretty soon, other money started showing up in various ways. It was really fun to see all the different ways in which money came to us. We kept repeating the mantra, believing more and more deeply that we always have plenty.
Now, we always have plenty. We still use the mantra consistently. Lip service definitely works. But it takes time and persistence.
Keep at it!
